For the past couple of months I’ve been working hard to publish three blog posts every week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I wonder if anyone noticed! The past few weeks it’s been super hard to do! Teaching is back in full swing and I’ve run out of scheduled posts. I’ll keep trying but sometimes I just can’t quite do it.
But here’s what’s been happening with me!
Today was Charles’ birthday! He’s now 27. I gave him a PS3 for his birthday about a week ago, so I made a birthday cake with an icing PS3 controller on it. It was really delicious and photos to come! Tomorrow is the family lunch for his birthday.
This past week I’ve been feeling randomly sick, and it’s gotten me down a lot. It makes me feel so weak and stupid when I have to go to bed early or come home from work sick. My confidence and self worth are closely tied to me achieving at my job (teaching percussion) and feeling healthy. So I just feel like the suckiest person right now.
But something good – it’s autumn! I think I like autumn best of all, because it’s such a blessed relief after the hot summer. I love cold nights, perfect for snuggling down with a doona.
So maybe I’ll post less, or maybe I’ll just post easier things sometimes! We’ll see, but my blog will live on anyway 🙂

Anna skirt complete!
Just a quick post – I finished my skirt for my friend Anna, it fits, and she likes it!
It was challenging working on this skirt because its so different to the style I usually make and wear. It had set-in pockets, a back zip, a border print, pleats, and a lower waistband than I’m used to. But Anna liked it and she looked lovely. She’s moved back to Melbourne now after her Honours year here in canberra, and I’m missing her friendship!
OOTD Sunday 10th Feb 2013 – Loli meetup
I don’t really wear Lolita any more because I don’t find it comfortable and I don’t like being asked questions.  So I went understated.  I have a couple of photos from the meet, but I don’t know if the others wanted their photos on my blog!
My outfit is hardly Lolita at all really.  But I was happy with what I wore and the girls were all nice.
One policeman came up to our group and started asking really rude questions.  I was astonished that a policeman would be so rude!  But the multicultural festival was really fun.  It’s bigger than in past years and there were heaps of music and dance things going on, as well as hundreds of food stalls.  When we got too hot we ducked into the mall.

Busy knitting!
Knitting!
This pattern is the Miette cardigan by Andi Satterlund. And it is gorgeous.  I first read about it on Lladybird (which is a blog you should all follow).  Then I joined Ravelry.com and realised that what I should be doing with my time is knitting!  Why stress about finding the perfect cardigan when I can create it myself!
So the first thing I did was go through my cardigans to see which colour was missing, and the answer was Coral! Â So I went out and bought 7 balls of this lovely Patons merino cashmere from Lincraft, which was totally cheap. Â Like $4 a ball. Â What.
All my materials ready!
I did have about three false starts, because the first few rows of knitting is complicated and very easy to get wrong. Â I kept having too few stitches. Â But once I finally got going it became much easier. Â The whole thing is stocking stitch except for the edges.
Now I look at Andi Sutterland’s ravelry page, she has heaps of lovely jumper and cardigan patterns! Â I would like to make them ALL! Â Let’s see how this one goes and then I’ll decide what to jump into next.
Do you like knitting?
