Giveaways?

So the lovely Ra at Gothic Lolita Sewing and other Amusements is having a rad giveaway – leave a comment and she’ll make one lucky person a lolita winter coat pattern. I would really like to make myself a winter coat so of course I left a comment. It’s a really kind thoughtful giveaway. The occasion is that her blog is 2 years old. My blog is almost 2 years old too – so I’m thinking about some giveaways.

But what the heck could I give? One of my leftover pendants? How crappy. A handmade skirt? As far as I can tell, there’s only one girl who follows my blog, and that’s Ra. If I had a million loli girls following my blarg, I’m sure that would be fine, but also I think they might *hate* me for not wearing socks. Alack me!
Anyway. You should follow Gothic Lolita Sewing and Other Amusements because it’s highly amusing. I know I do!
aristocrat, gothic and lolita, last man to die, sewing

Shiro-Lolita-Mad-Scientist-Steampunk-Aristocrat?

So Charles and his theatre group “Last Man To Die” have asked me to make costumes for their upcoming show.  This is mega-excitement times.

There are three people in “Last Friend To Die” I have to make costumes for: Charles (Music), Ben (Video), and Hanna (Actor).  Hanna has given me drawings of her vision for the costumes.  They are all white and all use a modified lab coat.  The boys are wearing Lab-Tailcoats and Lab-Waistcoats and white pants, and Hanna is wearing a Lab-Dress and Lab-Three-Tiered-Underskirt.  This is so up my alley it’s ridiculous.  It is my ENTIRE ALLEY.
I think their show is also going to be called “Last Friend To Fry” and is about, you know, life. Death.  Robots.  Dream sequences.  Masks.  Coffee machines.
Yesterday we bought the lab coats.  THIS IS FANTASTIC.
Tomorrow I plan to post Hanna’s drawings of the costumes plus any progress pics.  You are going to LOVE it!
Oh and BY THE WAY!  You should check out Gothic Lolita Sewing and Other Amusements.  She was lovely and linked to me PLUS she has a cool blog that I love to read.  OBEY.
gothic and lolita, headband

Day 14

I used a leftover flower ribbon decoration from my brother’s wedding to wrap a headband I already owned.  Using white cotton I stitched it in place.  It’s pretty!  It looks a bit skewiff in this photo because as I put it on it broke.  Snapped in the middle.  The ribbon sort of held it together as long as the photo, but I can’t really wear it anymore.  I’ll just do it to another headband!
