bag, thing-a-day, wasp, wasp bag

Day 01

I admit it – I didn’t make this whole bag today. But I did FINISH it today… so that counts. I used MachenMachen’s Wasp Bag pattern, with a couple of alterations. It was pretty tricky in some bits, but I think it turned out okay.
The bag shell material is just some el-cheapo bargain bin stuff, which just so happened to match the pretty Japanese fabric of the handles. The lining is faux-satin with sharks on it – so slippery and difficult to cut and sew!

lent, thing-a-day

Thing-A-Day for Lent!

I missed this year’s Thing-A-Day! I saw it right before registration opened, and I thought “Yes, I will do that” and now it’s already February!

So

I decided to do my own Thing-A-Day for Lent, rather than giving something up. I’ll attempt to create one thing every day starting tomorrow, except for Sundays – that’s the 40 days of Lent. It could be craft, art, music, writing, photography, cooking, or comics – anything. It’s going to be tough, but at the same time exciting. It will really help me develop some mad skillz (hopefully).

Little felt friends

I made some cute little felt friends using my new Aranzi Aronzo book. The only potential problem is that I can’t read Japanese. My creations MIGHT have been made wrong. I didn’t use any pattern for the star.

The lighting looks different in some of the photos… I guess photogrpahy is not my calling!

brooch, craft, embroidery, felt, sewing

Brooches!

I’ve been making brooches! But now I’ve given them all away. I even made a duckie one and gave it away BEFORE TAKING A PHOTO. Dumb dumb dumb.

First attempt.

Second attempt.

Third attempt.

I see an improvement! I think that the third is the best. Or you could say… a flower in the hand is worth a bird and another bird in a bush?
