More Omegle madness

On another note, I met a nice person from Holland last night on Omegle.  So if you’re reading, hello!

Things I learnt:
Not only do they have “whores and weed”, but also clogs, windmills, tulips, bicycles, and dykes.
But I knew that anyway.  Apparently most people ask about the former.
It’s like living in Canberra.  There’s lots of things in Canberra that aren’t in Fyshwick!
sewing, skirt

Day 36

Woo another skirt!  How many am I going to make?  MILLIONS!

It’s a bit blurry because the photo was taken at NIGHT.
Anyway, this skirt is inspired by this skirt over at Burdastyle.  Except that this one has pockets, not just pretend pockets.  I was helped along a bit by some kind of pattern, but this was mostly my own pattern.  The pockets were hard to do!
It is lined by an old flannelette sheet.  Reduce, re-use, recycle!
I tried to iron some of my hems and the skirt fabric actually melted!  How crazy is that?!?!  Luckily it was only on a tiny bit.  Next time I iron it, I’ll make sure it’s on a low heat!  Next time I make a skirt, I’ll make sure it’s not polyester!
This skirt fits me really well, because I made it with my measurements.  So that is good.  But I sort of wish I hadn’t used such bright contrasting fabric.  It makes it hard to wear.
Oh whoops… I forgot to put buttons on the front.  Oh well!
Hugs!
angelic pretty, necklace

Day 35

Last night I made a necklace!  I copied it off a necklace made by Angelic Pretty.

The glass pearl beads are from Lincraft, the glass square beads are from the Craft expo that’s at the Showgrounds each year, the clasp is from my Nana’s old jewelery stuff (separate from a necklace!), and a shout out to Lisa for that lovely Taiwanese rose bead.
It’s quite a short necklace, in fact you might even call it a choker.

Day 34

I made this dress a while ago but was too embarrassed to wear it anywhere or post it anywhere.  The pattern is from the Gothic and Lolita Bible 3 (International version).  I had little faith in my ability to sew it right, so I used an old sheet of my grandmother’s.
I had so many problems with this.  I thought it was going to be way too small, so I lengthened it at the shoulders.  Then the front was toot low so I had to undo that.
The zip was supposed to go to the waist, but the waist is fitted and I couldn’t get into the ruddy thing.
I had to unpick that and lower the zip so it went down into the flared skirt.  That means there’s a huge gap at the top back where the zip used to be.
I put off doing the front ruffles for like… 6 weeks… because it looked so bad without them I thought there wasn’t much point.  Chuck forced me to do them.
In conclusion:
There is nothing wrong with my mad sewing skillz.
There is nothing wrong with using an old sheet for fabric – the pattern is quite pretty and it’s still strong and usable.
The problem with this dress is the pattern.
It is silly.
Now I know why I’ve never seen anyone use this pattern on the sew_loli community.
