Review! Body Shop Japanese Cherry Blossom stuff

So recently I’ve been going through a “using stuff up” phase.  I have so much stuff to get rid of!

Last Christmas (perhaps the Christmas before?) I was given a Body Shop gift pack – Japanese Cherry Blossom themed.  It contained a shower sponge thing, some “body puree“, body butter, and shower gel.

Firstly, the shower gel.  This was great!  Smells nice, lathers well, and washes me!  All good traits for a shower gel.
Now the Body Butter.  I don’t really get body butter.  It’s really thick greasy moisturiser.  It really doesn’t absorb into the skin well, and you feel like you’ve just wiped your legs with grease.  It stays slippery for hours.  It really clogs the pores.  But, this really does smell good, and feels nice to put on.  I did kind of like this, since it is a really intense moisturiser!  I would recommend this if you have super dry skin for whatever reason.  If your skin isn’t super dry, don’t use much, or use some regular moisturiser.  It is luxuriously rich stuff!

This one is the “Body Puree”, which I assume is made up of puree’d human bodies.  It’s a moisturiser, I think.  This was very non-greasy, in fact, it was quite the opposite.  It absorbs into the skin pretty well, either leaving the skin as dry as before, or sticky.  I do not recommend putting this on before bed or you’ll be most uncomfortable until you have to get up and wash it off.  It generally stops being sticky after a few hours.  It rubs on easily enough, but seems to be a bit thin in texture and not at all creamy.  It is literally like puree’d fruit.  Do not like!
The sponge was nice!
I can see on the website they’re all really expensive too… so whoever gave me that gift must have paid a lot.  But I really liked the shower gel and the sponge, and the body butter was good.
So I’d give this 3 stars.  Out of one hundred.   But tell the Body Shop it’s out of 5.

Photoshoot photos!

So the photos from our photoshoot were uploaded to facebook the other day!  I look so different!  There were two other models, but I wasn’t sure if they wanted to be shown on my blog.  They looked so beautiful!  Tahnee and friends did so well on these clothes!

This one is interesting because my eyes aren’t blue.
Skirt was fun to swish.
This is the other dress I wore – as seen in the previous post.  The sides were bright red!  Gosh it was short.
Awesome.

Fashion photoshoot!

A friend of mine does fashion at CIT and needed models for her assessment.  Of course I put my hand up!  We had a photoshoot yesterday at the Glassworks – an old building that looks cool.  There were three models, three designers and four photographers!
These are the outfits I got to wear.  I originally thought I would only be wearing the main one in the photo, but then at the photoshoot they were all “Ok Chrissy time to get changed into your next dress!” Which turned out to be the mini dress next to it in this photo.  I was slightly uncomfortable because it was so short!  The first outfit I LOVED because the skirt is just gorgeous.
They got a makeup artist in to do our makeup – it was supposed to be light and ethereal around the eyes and dark and intense lips.  I think it worked pretty well!  I have never worn so much makeup.  They also teased my hair and put it up (frig it took ages to comb that out last night).

I don’t have any photos from the actual shoot, since I was too busy posing.  It was weird but the photographers were really nice and told me what to do.  I got sunburnt on my shoulder, which is weird because the photographers wanted us in the shade most of the time, and it was also partly cloudy yesterday.  When I get sent the photos from the shoot I’ll be sure to upload some!  I hope I get to do this stuff more often because it was awesome fun!
We have a fashion parade next Friday that I’m involved in… I hope I don’t trip on the catwalk!  That would be hilarious!
In other news, I just ate the best breakfast ever.  WOW.
Museli + raisins + glace cherries + a few choc bits + dried apple + dried apricot + crushed peanuts + milk + yoghurt = delicious.

Knitting is the New Thing

So as you all know, I’m going to Sweden in less than a month! (OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG)

As you may not know, Sweden has OPPOSITE weather conditions to Australia.  When it’s hot and bright here, it’s cold and dark there.  So I’ll be going from mid-Summer right into mid-Winter!  I am okay with this because I really dislike hot weather!  I don’t love freezing my toes off but I do love being able to sleep at night.

SO I’ve been knitting myself a pair of long johns, following this free internet pattern from Drops Design.  It’s the only pattern for tights I could find anywhere on the internet.  My yarn is a wool/acrylic/alpaca blend which feels quite soft to touch on my hands, but it’s a different story on my legs.

Anyway here’s progress pics:

So I started knitting from the waistband down.  I had to alter the pattern a bit because I’m a tiny person.  When this photo was taken I was just about to start the legs.  Looks a bit like high-waisted wooly underpants.

It’s knitted on a circular needle, which is really awesome and easy to use.  It’s just a spiral!  Here you can see how it’s a tube.  Soon I’ll upload more progress pictures!  I’ve knitted a bit of legs since these photos.
Since it’s a bit itchy on my legs (like it makes me want to pull my skin off), I’m going to have to wear another pair of tights underneath these.  So it’ll be tights, leggings, jeans.  I do quite like the colours so I might also wear them under a skirt with boots.
Where I’m going, I’m pretty sure the temperature is not going to go above -5 at any point, so maybe tights underneath my leggings would be necessary even if they didn’t make my legs feel like there’s ants in my pants.

Update!

So I have lots of blog posts with pictures planned, but they’re going to have to wait until after my exams!  I have one on Thursday and one on Saturday.  Exams on Saturdays are weird!

I’ve booked my flights to Stockholm for the holidays!  I’m leaving mid-December and coming home mid-February.  I’ll spend a few days in Sweden with Charles and then we’ll go to Paris for Christmas!  I’ll get to visit BTSSB and AP in Paris!  I might buy myself a Christmas present there 🙂

Then we plan to go to London for New Year’s and some tourism.  Then we’ll head back to Sweden and hang out.  I’ll get to practice at the School of Music with Charles – we might do some duets, or some ensemble pieces with the guys there. I’m excited about finally playing some percussion again after all this psychology study!  But mostly I’m looking forward to seeing Charles again – it’s been over a month since we were together in Perth – so I’m halfway through our separation.  It’s going to be the BEST.  We are doing really well, but lots of stuff is different.  I realise that I haven’t been single since I was 16 and I don’t know how to go out to parties alone, especially at clubs… it’s just weird.  Lots to learn!

Does anyone know what to wear in really cold weather?  I’m talking REALLY cold weather: a maximum of -5 degrees in the day.  I don’t want to have to wear ski pants.

Plus today I saw a full rainbow!  It was awesome.  The pot of gold was obviously in the lady over the road’s backyard.  I think she’s a leprechaun.
