Friday, Frocktober the 18th! Day off.

Today I wore a dress I don’t like very much, even though it’s pretty.  I bought it from Modcloth about a year ago and it was just way too big on me.  I put elastic in the waist and put a pleat right through the back to bring it in.  It’s still not a great fit though, and somehow it’s super itchy?  I don’t know.  The things I do for you.
Friday is my day off, and I was pretty tired today.  I managed to finish one of my sewing projects!  I’ll wear it another day for you 🙂
Good news – I’ve broken $200 in my Frocktober fundraising!  I’d still love to make some more money for this lovely cause though – please donate!

Thursday, Frocktober the 17th! Windy day.

Today was an extremely windy day. I got home and heard that there were bushfires all over NSW.  Wind is bad news in summer.
And this dress is called the Fireside Glow dress, and it’s from Modcloth.  Now I feel a bit bad about that name. 
So I present one of the derpiest pictures of me ever taken:
(It was a self-portrait and I didn’t want to wait another 12 seconds to take another).
Today I taught some high school boys and then I ate sausages for dinner.  Yum.

Wednesday, Frocktober the 16th! Luck be a lady.

Good afternoon!  Today I’m wearing the original Luck Be A Lady dress from Modcloth.  A total favourite!  Have you noticed that I’ve been wearing naught but my Luck Be A Lady dresses the past three days?  I forget how to wear my other dresses because they’re so comfortable!  I have 7 of them, so we’re not even halfway through my stash…
 Today was spent (drumroll) teaching percussion again!  Like every day monday – thursday!  Tonight I have my clothing production class (soon!) so I’d better go get my stuff together!  We’re making skirts from commercial patterns right now…

Tuesday, Frocktober the 15th! Paisley!

Today was my first day back teaching at the girls school.  I started at 9, which is why my photos are more awake!  I’m trying to find a good spot to stand where I’m not in sunlight but it’s still bright enough for photos!
Last night we saw Labyrinth at the movies and it was SO RAD!  We were both completely exhausted but we enjoyed it a lot.  The theatre was packed!
Tonight I have my first Patternmaking 2 class, 6 – 9.  I’m excited!

Monday, Frocktober the 14th! First day back at school

Today I’m wearing the Modcloth dress, Luck Be A Lady in Violet.
Here’s me this morning at 6:45am.  I hate getting up so early on a Monday!  It’s because we run the junior school percussion ensemble before school on Mondays.  It’s pretty awful – especially today, the first day back.  These are boys aged 9 – 12.  Mostly hyperactive, all naughty.  For some reason today was especially bad, and suddenly two boys burst into tears. We weren’t being hard on them.  I asked why they were upset, and one kid said that some other kid took his snare drum.  I managed to fix that problem and he cheered up, but I don’t know what was wrong with the other kid.  His mum works at the school and he went to see her.  I wish I could run to my mum when percussion ensemble is crap!  But that would be every monday morning.

Because it’s such a bad photo of this morning, here’s another one from when I got the dress.  Still with a cardigan!  But much sassier and less like “oh god why is it so early”
 Tonight we’re going to see Labyrinth at the movies!  It’s my favourite movie and I’m super excited to finally see it on the big screen!
