Gig at the Yarralumla shops!

Today we had a concert at the Yarralumla shops as part of the Musical Offering! As you can see from the sign behind me.  Then a big gust of wind came and blew it down upon my head and it smote me.
So the guy in charge moved it.  The guy is Don Aitkin who is a Canberra music organising guy.

As well as our ragtime set Charles played a few jazz standards solo, which were super lovely!

What a lovely morning!  We played pretty well, I think!

This is our last performance for the Musical Offering for a while.  Who knows what we’ll do next!

You can see our bio on the Performers page of the Musical Offering website!

DRUMatiX Next Phrase Concert photos

This concert was like three months ago! Better late than never!
All the photos are by the lovely Pete Butz.

This looks like I’m singing but I’m not.  I’m mic testing!

Still mic testing!  You don’t play drum kit with one mallet.

 Rehearsing!

 This might be concert.

I only put up pictures of me and Charles really, because I don’t know how everyone else would feel about being on my blog.  But there were like 10 of us.

Arty shot of mallets and stuff.

The stage setup was pretty massive.  I have never done a concert with so many instruments on stage at once!  It was a fantastic concert.  I hope to do more like this in future!

OOTD Sunday 10th Feb 2013 – Loli meetup

On Sunday I went to a Lolita meetup at the Multicultural Festival.  Luckily it wasn’t as hot as Saturday when we played our gig at the shops!  Still we got super hot walking around in the sun.

I don’t really wear Lolita any more because I don’t find it comfortable and I don’t like being asked questions.  So I went understated.  I have a couple of photos from the meet, but I don’t know if the others wanted their photos on my blog!

My outfit is hardly Lolita at all really.  But I was happy with what I wore and the girls were all nice.

One policeman came up to our group and started asking really rude questions.  I was astonished that a policeman would be so rude!  But the multicultural festival was really fun.  It’s bigger than in past years and there were heaps of music and dance things going on, as well as hundreds of food stalls.  When we got too hot we ducked into the mall.

Sticks and Tones gig at the Campbell shops

On saturday we had a gig for The Musical Offering, a project for the centenary of Canberra where there’s a free concert every day!
It was super hot – 36 degrees!  Or 97F for those who aren’t used to celcius.

We set up right near a cafe.

I like that there are three kids bikes in this photo.

When we packed up it was getting really hot!  We started playing at 11am, by the time we were done packing up it was around 12:30.  Funny, looking at the pictures it doesn’t look hot at all!

I changed my shoes to pack up, unfortunately!  I play in heels because my xylophone is pretty high, or is it the other way round?  My dress is from Review, it’s my going-away outfit from my wedding (except that I totally changed into jeans to go away).

Next saturday we’re playing at the Yarralumla shops at 11am!  Canberrans, be there!

OOTD and my dressing table

I have added four little crystal bowls to my dressing table to help display my things!
It really helps me see everything I have.
When things are so neat and pretty, it encourages me to keep this nice and use them more.  I always have had a problem of being messy but I hope this will help!

Also, I thought I’d share my favourite perfume – Dior’s Hypnotic Poison. I love the bottle, it looks like a poisoned apple from Snow White!  It’s a beautiful fruity smell, it always makes me hungry somehow. Charles bought me this and I wore it on our wedding day, so it’s my signature scent!  Whenever anyone asks me what I’m wearing, I just say “Dior” because “Hypnotic Poison” sounds too erotic and I get embarrassed *_*

And an outfit!  I am feeling so happy today and my pictures turned out really well because of it 🙂

Skirt: Handmade.  I took it up a bit because it was daggy, and I’m so pleased with the length now.
Shoes: DFO
Top: H&M

Have a lovely day!
